Settings form
Formularz ustawień to pojedynczy rekord bez listy. Trzyma parametry jednego obszaru, na przykład dane do dokumentów albo domyślne wartości procesu.
The settings form
Most lists contain many records. There are, however, pieces of information of which there is by definition only one: an area's parameters, the company data for documents, default deadlines in a process. In Opero such information lives in a settings form, that is, an object having exactly one record.
A settings form has no list. Clicking its entry in the menu opens the form right away, not a list from which you have to choose something.
Example. The blog settings hold the site name, the default author, and the base address. There is no sense in them existing in two copies, so they are a settings form, not a list.
People allowed to change it
Usually the administrator or the person responsible for the area. A change of a value on the settings form takes effect at once for the whole area: for the documents, notifications, and processes that use it. That is why access to it is sometimes narrower than to ordinary lists.
If you see a settings form but the fields are locked, it means you have the right to view the configuration, not to change it.
What to watch for
A settings form is one for the whole company. A change of a value concerns not only your own records, but all that use it, including those created by others. If you are not sure of the effect, arrange it with the administrator before saving.
